Clothing Club Meets Tonight

Hi All,

It's been a couple of months since we met up because of our September Swiss Trip - And that took a little bit away from the video making production. Good news though, I put a video together that wraps up August's meeting on the first steps in constructing our Basic Blouse. You can Watch the Video below:

When we were in Switzerland, everyday was packed with activities and lot of fun. We went shopping at the Zurich and St Galen corporate BERNINA stores
and had an opportunity to visit the Textile Museum in St Gallen. The textile museum holds an amazing archive of lace and trim as well as embroidery.
The world's first embroidery machine. Equipped with the capacity to embroidery 25 emblems at one time.
There is a device to the left of the machine which the operator uses to move the needles into the correct position - PER STITCH! Can you image how long this could have taken?
I found a dress on display that I am very eager to copy. It was a 1960s sheath dress covered in lace. Of course this would be an awesome embroider along for all of us, right?

So I took it all in, bought some fabric, have some ideas for new classes and hope to share with you all of the learnings in due course.

For tonight, I excited to see what everyone is working on. I plan on sharing some techniques on the basic blouse for professional construction of a pleat, attaching a yoke and topstitching.

Hope to see you tonight,

Gayle
