Clothing Club Meets Tonight
Hi All,
I am a bit late in posting as June was a very busy month with most of it spent either preparing for BERNINA University, Attending it, or recovering from it. With that said, I am happy to report that it was all about Clothing!!!!
BERNINA University opened with a Fashion Show hosted by Christy Burcham, VP of Training and Education at BERNINA of America and special guest co-host, Nic Verreos from Project Runway fame. Now, we are all supposed to watch the season premier with our eyes peeled July 31, 2026 on Hulu to see some extra exciting. I wonder what we'll see? | ![]() |

There were about 15 project submissions to the fashion show along with Jeanne Delpit (BERNINA of America Event Manager), who modeled selections from Nic's couture collection. |
Jeanne was such a great sport and looked beautiful in those dresses. | ![]() |

The winner was Maggie from Pintuck and Purl in New Hampshire. Her strapless pink, corseted georgette dress, was embroidered with metallic thread, boning sewn meticulously and it was draped in yards and yards of fabric flowing elegantly as she sashayed down the runway. |
The next day I took a garment construction class from Fabian Renteria. Fabian is an amazing designer. His draping abilities and use of leatherette and other sticky textile is waaaay impressive. He had a few of the items on display in the classroom.

After last month's meeting, I took to heart what the attendees requested. More simple instruction on various garment construction techniques. Currently I am working on a series of tutorials to help in that compacity.

So, tonight, July 11, 6-8PM, our topic will be show and tell. I brought a lot of things to share and hope I see you....
