Clothing Club Meets This Friday, August 8!
Hi All,
Our show and tell was really fun. It's fantastic (and inspiring) to see everyone's creations.
Sign-Up Here for August 2025's Session
Did you catch the premiere of Season 21 Project Runway on FreeForm last Thursday Night? Don't judge, but I taped it and plan to watch tonight... I did preview enough to see the BERNINA 770, L 890 and the bernette 08s, and b68 sergers. Squee!
Last month, I brought in some costumes as well as some simple ready to wear garments. If you would like to see more about my Sarah Williams Cosplay from Labyrinth, CLICK THE LINK HERE at Weallsew.com where I chronicled the journey. | ![]() |

This week, I am starting things off with Lesson #1 of 5 (and then subsequent video) on constructing a basic blouse. Additional lessons will include some of my tried and true construction tips as well as new tricks I have learned recently. Our blouse includes a collar with stand, contrasting lapel and cuff lining, buttonholes, yoke and shirt tail hem. I am working from the Liesl + Co. Some of you expressed interest in making pants and a workshop for getting a perfect fit. I will be working on a lesson plan for that but i wanted to start by woerking on this Liesl and Co Pattern, Peckham Women's Trousers. I want to try a pair out of our Ponte Knits. | ![]() |

In some other previous classes I mentioned The Lutterloh Pattern System, which is an easy drafting concept using only your bust and hip measurements. We now have them available for all sizes. Package XS - L and XL - XXL. Both Systems come with the French Curve, special measuring tape with tape and pins plus tons of patterns to get started with. We even have the drafting paper available. Look for some Video Tutorials featuring these patterns later this winter. |
Finally, one of my favorite products is back in stock from the StitchBuzz Etsy Shop. French Curve Rulers with a 5/8" seam allowance built in. Check them out if you make any of the Lutterloh patterns, Burda Patterns or BERNINA Inspiration patterns where it is necessary to add the 5/8" seam allowance. The company also makes rulers with 1/2" and 2/8" if you prefer that seam size. |
And remember, Clothing club has no skill level requirements, you sew on your own at home and come to our sessions for help, guidance and inspiration - or whatever else feeds your creative soul.
