Show Me How to Make a Quilt from Start to Finish: Rank-Beginners
THIS IS AN IN-PERSON Class. Do not sign up if you will not be in the Naperville, Illinois, area on the day of class.
Quilting is a fantastic hobby. It can challenge you, inspire you, build your confidence, and warm your home. The hard part is getting started.
In this 5-Part Hands-On course:
Class 1: How do I start? Choose a pattern and learn all about fabric selection, color, value, shade, choosing fabrics, fabric scale, and laundering - crucial to making sure that your first quilt is an eye-catcher!
Class 2: Measure Twice - Cut a lot! Learn how to accurately cut for your quilt, the best rotary cutter and rulers to use, what cutting mats work best for your needs, and more
Class 3: Precision Piecing - the 1/4" seam allowance is a quilter's go-to, but there's more than just using the right foot. Gayle will guide you through stitching a 1/4" seam, testing it, and finding the best tools to get you on the path to precision.
Class 4: Quilting - Yes, there are tons of ways to quilt a quilt, but you're new, so we don't want to scare you. Let's stick to straight or serpentine lines or cross-hatching.
Class 5: Binding - You will also learn how to bind using a traditional method on a practice swatch before tackling your masterpiece.
