Doilies have long been used as a decorative item to place precious teacups, tchotchkes, or simply to display on their own.
In this class you will be stitching one doilie from the collection, Dandelion Lace from Zundt Designs.
Zundt Designs is rooted in the Embroidery History of Switzerland. Embroidery is multi-generational in the Zündt family. Urban Zundt’s grandfather worked in the embroidery industry as a hand embroiderer in the early 1900’s, using the first, hand-embroidery machines. He founded the company Stickerei Zündt (Zündt embroideries), and Felix Zündt, Urban’s father, founded Atelier Zündt in Altenrhein in 1960. Urban himself founded Zündt Design in 1992. Embroidery a design from Zundt Designs fells to Gayle like she is stepping back into an era when laces and embelishments were all of the rage and in fact, the deisgns also told a story.
Along with Urban, Tracey Sims, a talented Australian Artist, is the designer behind the gorgeous lace, embroidery animals, and more at Zundt. A talented painter, alot of zundt Designs inspirations comes from her paintings.
