Learn to Quilt: Little Spacemen

Make a quilt that highlights your embroidery designs or a panel, like the one we used from Art Gallery Fabrics. 

In this class you will learn how to cut perfect 12 1/2" squares, use a circle cutting tool, applique using a satin stitch, 1/4" piecing and how to add borders to your assembled block center.

Kit available for $44 which includes: Spaceman Panel fabric, Circle frame fabric, inner border and outer border (total 3 1/8 yards).

Learn to Quilt: Patchwork Patterns

From the very beginning, you will learn with hands-on instruction, the art of patchwork. In this 8-week course, you will learn from the very beginning with hands-on instruction the basics of patchwork. We will cover fabric selection and piecing using all of the necessary tools and tried and true techniques Each of your 9, 12" blocks will be a learning opportunity. In the last class, you will learn how to set the blocks, add sashings and even complete the design with a  mitered border! Don't worry if you do not know what that means, you will by the end of this class.

One 8-week course meets 6pm - 8pm starting Thursday, January 16, $300: REGISTER

Brown Bag Lunch Lectures:

These Lunchtime Lectures meet the first Friday of every month from Noon-1PM. The class fee includes your lunch which is provided during the session.

 Marisa Marquez Quilting Classes

You’ve admired her beautiful award-winning quilts in our BERNINA of Naperville classroom, now you have an opportunity to learn from a true artist.

Machine Quilting 101: The key to success is repetition, practice and having the right instructor. You will love Marisa. She is talented, patient and has a wealth of quilting knowledge. Learn the basic tips to properly baste your fabric sandwich together then stipple, follow a template and stitch-in-the-ditch.

Machine Quilting 102: Doodling is fun, but sometimes straight lines are needed. In this class, you will learn the benefits of ruler work versus a walking foot, plus play around with techniques learned in Machine Quilting 101.

Learn to Sew Series – Learn how to sew your own clothes by starting off with the basics. You can take all classes for a one-time admission of $240  or take the classes a la carte. These classes are the perfect start to learn valuable sewing skills for costumes, a special night out or sewing a day-to-day wardrobe.
